Obituary for Mary Lou Willis Jaquay

Mary Lou Willis Jaquay, 93, of Hultquist Place, Jamestown, Formerly of 250 Main Street, Randolph, passed away at 11:35 PM, Sunday (October 22, 2017) at UPMC-Chautauqua-WCA Hospital in Jamestown with her family by her side. She was born December 6, 1923 in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel (Miller) Willis. Mary Lou was a 1942 graduate of Falconer Central School, was a home maker whom later worked at the Gail N. Chapman Elementary School in Randolph, where she had been a Cafeteria Monitor. She retired from Conewango Service in Randolph, where she was the shipping clerk. Her memberships included, Randolph American Legion Unit 181 Auxiliary, Randolph Garden Club and the former Twi-Lite lanes Thursday night bowling league. Mary Lou was always positive, her favorite saying was “Every day is a good day”, She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, gardening, feeding and watching her birds and cooking food for family gatherings. She is survived by a son; David Jaquay of Bremen, Ga., four daughters; Nancy (Jerry) Summerfield of Oklahoma City, OK., Martha (Ron) Brown of Canandaigua, NY., Mary (late Jon) Visker and Ruth (Jon) Mellon, all of Randolph. She is lovingly survived by 10 grandchildren; Stephanie and Adam Jaquay, Jared, Heather and Jason Summerfield, Carrie Conley, Aaron Brown, Matthew, Michael and Andrew Visker, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Eugene L. “Beaner” Jaquay, whom she married on October 26, 1946 in Kennedy and who preceded her on June 24, 2005, a sister, Dorothy Honey and three brothers, Howard, Alton and Robert “Skip” Willis. Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday (October 26, 2017) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph. The family will be received 2 hours prior from 10-12. John Knowles Congdon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be sent to the Randolph Regional EMS, 70 Main Street, Randolph, NY 14772.
