Obituary for Lyle S. Field

Jamestown, NY – Lyle S. Field, 84, of Crane Street, Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday (October 3, 2017) in the emergency room of WCA Hospital in Jamestown. He was born April 1, 1933 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Joseph Alan and Irene (Bailey) Field. He attended a one room school house in Ellington and attended Falconer Central School before serving in the United States Airforce from February 24, 1953 to his honorable discharge on November 9, 1962. Lyle retired from Hopes Windows in Falconer and had previously worked at Proto Tool and Jamestown Metal Products in Jamestown. Lyle was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His passion later in life was in his Church, Healing Word Ministries Church of God in Jamestown, where he served as usher, healing room prayer ministry servant and on the Church board. He will be remembered as a steadfast servant of God. He had a great love of the lord and worked tirelessly to lead people to receive Jesus Christ into their hearts. He will be sadly missed by his Church family and many in the Jamestown greater area. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Violet E. Abers Field, whom he married on April 14, 1954 in West Palm Beach, Fl., four sons; David (Marlene) Field of Randolph, Tim (Debbie) Field of Blockville, Joe (Marcia) Field of Grand Island, NY and Andy (Penny) Field of Jamestown. He is additionally survived by seven grandchildren; Jason Field of Orchard Park, Joshua Field of Victoria, Va., Dustin Field of Randolph, Peter Field and Doug Lawson of Jamestown, Jennifer Dracup of Falconer and Kassandra Lawson of Jamestown, as well as 9 great grand-children. He was preceded by siblings, Arthur, Donald and Nancy. Funeral services will be held at Noon Friday (October 6, 2017) in the Healing Word Ministries Church of God, 1006 W. Third Street, Jamestown with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Burial and Military honors will follow in the Blockville Union Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home in Randolph. To send a condolence log onto www.vanrensselaerandsonfuneralhome.com.
