Obituary for Dorothy J. Bailey Sherman

Dorothy J. Sherman, 67, of Brookdale Estates, Lakewood, formerly of Maple Drive, East Randolph, passed away Friday February 16, 2018 in UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital.
Mrs. Sherman was born April 4, 1950 in Jamestown, New York, the daughter of the late Winthrop R. and Edith B. (Wheeler) Bailey.
Dorothy was a 1968 graduate of Randolph Central School and was a Home Maker. She attended the East Randolph United Methodist Church, was a baptized in the Conewango Baptist Church and was a member of the Conewango Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, crocheting and most importantly spending time with her family, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter and caregiver; Michele Riddell and husband Jason of Randolph, a son; Patrick Halstead and wife Janet of Charleston, SC, two grandchildren; David Halstead of Charleston and Miquela Riddell of Randolph. She was preceded by her parents, a daughter; Sherry Halstead in 1989, husband, Paul K. Sherman, whom she married on November 23, 1974 and who preceded her on July 30, 2015 and a sister Alice Town
As per Dorothy’s wishes, visitation will not be observed. A private service will take place at the convenience of the family in the Rutledge Rural Cemetery, Conewango, NY.
