Obituary for Carl H. PeQueen

Warren, PA – Carl H. PeQueen, 88, of Cambridge Apartments in Warren, PA, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:45 A.M. at the Warren General Hospital. He was born March 7, 1929 in Randolph, NY, the youngest son of the late John O. and Nina B. (Brammer) PeQueen. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Sydney, John D. and Earl J. and two sisters; Pearl Sample (Edwin) and Eva Boyle (formerly of Randolph). He was a 1946 graduate of Randolph Central School where he became an accomplished clarinetist in the school band and enjoyed participating in the Fredonia Music Festival. After graduation, he attended Erie County Technical College where he studied Computer Science. Carl was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Airforce. He was an Electronics Technician and Communications Specialist assigned to England, Germany and North Africa from September 15, 1950 until his honorable discharge November 11, 1954. In earlier years, prior to his enlistment, Carl was employed by his brother Sidney at PeQueen Welding Service in Buffalo, NY; the Borden Co. Tin Shop in Randolph, NY and Dahlstrom Metallic Door Co. in Jamestown, NY. After 31 years of service with AT&T Co., Carl retired in Denver, CO as Operations Supervisor, in 1985. Upon retirement, he volunteered as campground host for the USDA Forest Service where he spent many summers in the mountains of Colorado fishing for trout in his spare time. Carl was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors and traveled across many States and in Canada with his camper exploring. His love for the outdoors began as a young boy, running trap-line with his father in Randolph, during WWII and he often talked about moose hunts that he went on with his father and brothers in Canada. He was the previous owner of a summer camp on Pierce Run, in Onneville, NY that he built and where he and his family spent many enjoyable hours. He was a licensed amateur radio operator (HAM) and an enthusiast of building and flying radio control model airplanes. He was a former member of the Button Valley Bombers Radio Control Club in Watts Flatts, NY and maintained an avid life-long interest in computers. Surviving are two sons; John (Tanya) PeQueen of Sugar Grove, PA and David (Trina) PeQueen of Cochranton, NY and a daughter; Lori (Paul) Mueller of North Ridgeville, Ohio; three grandchildren; Karina PeQueen (Wagner), Corpus Christi, TX; Ashley Parker, and Tyler Parker, Ohio; and three great-grandchildren; Noah, Justin and Jessica Wagner, Corpus Christi, TX. Interment will be privately held in the Randolph Cemetery with full military honors with a date and time to be announced at a later date.
